Our club was founded as the first wholly online Soroptimist club in the Northwestern Region. We were founded in 2017, with 13 charter members from 3 states, in order to make membership available to people who can't access a traditional club for whatever reason. As a member of the Northwestern Region, we serve women in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Northern Idaho, and Alaska, though we welcome members from anywhere who support our mission. Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. Our name, loosely translated from the Latin, means best for women. Today, we have about 160,000 members and supporters in 21 countries and territories. We are members of one of four federations that make up Soroptimist International, which has clubs in more than 120 countries throughout the world.
